Participants of the Scheme can take up short-term employment of not more than six months with any one employer during their 12-month stay. There are different kinds of jobs for Scheme participants who are going to Australia, including such seasonal jobs as fruit picking and flowers cutting at farms and gardens.
What should you pay attention to when you are working in Australia?
- You are required to pay taxes on income earned in Australia. Please pay attention to your wages whether they are inclusive of tax or not.
- You are strongly advised to take out travel and/or medical insurance to cover yourself in Australia.
